STAMBOURNE PARISH COUNCIL
The latest meeting of the Parish Council took place on Thursday, 20th March 2025 at 7.30pm at the Village Hall, Stambourne. We were pleased to welcome our District Councillor, Richard van Dulken.
Membership
There have been some changes of members since the last meeting.
- Nathan Robbins has been elected uncontested after Vanessa Young’s resignation earlier this year.
- Since then, long standing Parish Councillor, Michael Crago has resigned. Michael has been a Parish Councillor for many years and done a great deal for the village in that time. Thank you, Michael, for your contribution.
- The Parish Council have now co-opted new member Wendy Anderson.
Welcome to Nathan and Wendy!
Pavilion
The Pavilion remains closed for the winter.
The Pavilion is currently having some shutters repaired and some minor maintenance inside before it opens for the spring.
Highways
Once again potholes are a problem, not just throughout the village but in the wider area. The Parish Council are in contact with our Essex County Councillor about the lack of action from Highways to get these repaired. Please remember that anyone can report a highways issue via the website at essex.gov.uk and follow the links.
Planning
There have been 3 applications made which were considered and details are available in the full minutes available in the documents section.
Dogs on the Playing Field
As you will be aware there has been a trial running through the winter to allow dog walking on the Playing Field. After much discussion and consideration it has been agreed that dogs can be walked on the Playing Field on a lead during the winter months – from 1st October to 30th April.
Thank you to everyone who has taken the trouble to put forward their views. We hope that you all respect the decision.

ST. PETER & ST. THOMAS BECKET PARISH CHURCH
For those of you who don’t walk or drive pass the Church, you have missed an amazing display of snowdrops at the front of the Church which have now made way to the wonderful daffodils which are in various places throughout the Churchyard and more importantly on both sides of the path leading to the Church door.
Most of these particular daffodils were purchased from the donations received from some villagers to remember their loved ones.
Many thanks to Louise and Ian who took on the task of planting the bulbs helped by Wendy and her Husband.
It was definitely worth the hard work by you all.
