Fiona Bayley has kindly provided a DVD of the events which took place in Stambourne village on the 7th and 8th May 1995 to mark 50 years since VE and VJ day.

Readings took place in the Chapel and the Church, and on the Playing Field tug o’ war and welly throwing were some of the competitions taking place. You can even spot some dancing!

The final event was a fireworks display, all recorded on the video below.

With thanks to all whose who organised the events back in 1995, who are credited at the start of the video. And, of course, to all those who came along to the events to mark 50 years since the end of World War II and remember the heroic effort of everyone in those times.
